Our Mission and Values

Our Mission

We believe art is a tool for discovery. Our mission is to introduce you to the rich culture, traditions, and history of the Pueblo People and other neighboring tribes through authentic Native American artwork.

Our Values

Our business is rooted in five values: Quality, Fairness, Respect, Approachability, and Authenticity. Through our commitment to these values, we have established ourselves as a trusted destination for fine Native American art.

Quality

Our team of experts carefully inspects every product to ensure it is handcrafted using traditional, sustainable processes, and that it has real and lasting value.

Fairness

We’ve made it a priority to have a buying process that is fair, positive, and beneficial to artists. We pride ourselves in paying a fair price that allows artists to earn a living through their craft.

Respect

We get to know every artist we purchase from, taking the time to learn about their creation process and the meaning of their works. (Out of respect for Native traditions and religion, there are some items that we sell seasonally in store that are not available online.)

Approachable

At Shumakolowa Native Arts and IndianPuebloStore.com, you will find a friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable staff. We are honored to share the beauty of Native American art and serve as liaisons between you and talented artists.

Authentic

Our artists complete an extensive certification process, and our team of experts inspect every product to make certain it is handcrafted using traditional methods.

We guarantee that your purchase is an original and authentic work handcrafted by a Native American artist, as defined by the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990.
