Derrick Kaamasee Marble Owl Fetish Carving

This white Zuni owl fetish carving from marble by artist Derrick Kaamasee has piercing blue turquoise eyes.

In Zuni culture, a fetish represents the animal spirit thought to reside in the stone. It is believed that fetishes require a meal of cornmeal and ground turquoise occasionally.

Fetishes may be kept in a clay pot, as is the tradition.
This owl is 2" long and 1-1/8" wide, stands 2-1/2" tall, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
