Tewa Tee Youth Turtle Dance T-shirt

 An interpretive youth design from Tewa Tees. The turtle is a water symbol representing new life, as it is the first of the animals to stir in the early spring. All animals being part of nature have a part in the balance of Pueblo life. They are often honored in the form of artwork on pottery, small stone carvings (fetishes) and in ceremonial dances. 

Tewa Tees founded by Santa Clara designer Betty Tsosie is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and offers a diverse selection of designs that represent Pueblo and Native American culture and symbolism.
